Our Story

Thanks for stopping by — I’m Melissa.
My love for cooking was born from years of watching the women in my life create memories around the kitchen table. The heart of our home was always where the food was, where laughter echoed, and where love was quietly poured into every meal.

In 2022, my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia. Watching her fade from the strong, vibrant woman we knew into someone barely recognizable was one of the hardest experiences of my life. She had always been the soul of our family gatherings — often working behind the scenes, rarely acknowledged, but always present in every carefully crafted dish and every unforgettable meal.

In the fall of 2024, she left her earthly home. Though our hearts broke, we found peace knowing that her body and mind were made whole again. I hold close the dream of one day hugging her again, tasting her cooking, and seeing her smile light up a room.

Blades Bread Shed was born from that kind of love — the kind passed down through generations of women who gave of themselves through flour-dusted hands and meals made with heart. Every item on our menu carries that legacy.
The secret ingredient truly is love.

While I’m in the kitchen baking, my other half, Andrew, is out by the fire crafting authentic Texas-style BBQ. His journey began with a pellet smoker, but it wasn’t long before he realized that wasn’t the end goal. After perfecting his seasoning blends to get just the right bark, he upgraded to a wood smoker — a true commitment to the craft. Now, he pours his attention into every detail of the cook, coaxing out the deepest smoke and the most tender meat possible.

Whatever Andrew does, he puts his whole heart into it — and BBQ is no exception.

Together, we hope our passion comes through in every bite.
